Tottenham are eager on a late move for Yves Bissouma
According to the Sunday Mirror (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are said to be ‘chasing’ a move for Yves Bissouma as they look to sign the player before deadline day.
Bissouma, who joined Brighton three years ago from Lille, has been an impressive figure in the midfield line for the Seagulls and has helped them to stay in the Premier League since he joined the club.
Last season, the 24-year-old made 36 Premier League appearances and managed to score 1 goal from midfield. However, his defensive performances have been eye-catching, and Nuno Espirito Santo is said to be an ‘admirer’ of the Mali International.
The North London outfit, who have recently offloaded Moussa Sissoko to Watford, do have a vacancy in their midfield, which they could be looking to fill. Although they do possess the likes of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, and Oliver Skipp in the midfield, Bissouma could provide a lot of impetus to the club in the centre of the pitch.
However, signing the midfielder is not going to be an easy feat. Brighton & Hove Albion are looking for at least £40million for the central midfielder, and it remains to be seen whether Spurs would be open to paying that much for the 24-year-old.
Additionally, Spurs will also face competition from Arsenal & Liverpool for the player’s signature, with the latter also making an official move for the player earlier this week.

If Paratici does manage to get Bissouma over the line, the Malian international would be the club’s fifth signing of the summer, behind the likes of Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero, and Pape Matar Sarr.
