Tottenham prepare January offer for Weston McKennie; Aston Villa also interested
According to Calciomercato (h/t Birmingham Live), Tottenham are set to be rivalled by Aston Villa for the signing of Weston McKennie. The Premier League duo are preparing offers to be made in January itself. There are claims that the American, valued at £25m, could well be heading out of Juventus.
No sooner did the summer transfer window end than Spurs started preparing for the January window. The club are ready to revisit some of their targets from the summer transfer window that were not completed or pursued. Weston McKennie was one of those players that Spurs missed out on.
However, the Juventus man faces an uncertain future at the Italian club. They recently signed Manuel Locatelli which has pushed him down the pecking order. His performances have also not been up to the mark over the last few months meaning that the Italians are looking for suitors. Add to that his disciplinary issues and there seems to be an exit looming.
Spurs are ready to revisit their interest in the player and are also said to be preparing an offer for him in January itself. However, they are not the only side with those plans as Aston Villa are after the player as well since summer. A departure for the talented midfielder is very much on the cards when the transfer window reopens.

Transfer News: Tottenham get boost in chase for Weston McKennie
It will not be easy to prise McKennie away despite Juve’s stance. Aston Villa have splashed the cash of late and might not shy away from this deal. Spurs will be hoping the Fabio Paratici factor edges a potential deal in their favour. He could be a decent addition to our midfield alongside the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and co.
