Tottenham receive injury scare over Son Heung-Min

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham have received a major injury scare with Son Heung-Min on international duty. The South Korean sprained his right calf on Monday during a training session after playing through the draw against Iraq. He has been excluded from the squad to play in the final game against Lebanon.

If Tottenham could ask for anything, it would be for this international break to be over. It’s not without reason. Spurs will be missing the services of Argentine duo Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso after the pair will quarantine for 10 days from now. Ryan Sessegnon has also returned with a knock during training with the England U-21 setup.

They could be about to get their biggest blow yet as Son Heung-Min has suffered a calf strain (h/t Daily Mail). The South Korean featured in the draw over Iran but was left out of the side that played Lebanon. He sprained his right calf and felt discomfort. Spurs are yet to know the full extent and seriousness of the injury.

This could end up becoming a huge problem if it is serious in any way. The South Korean FA also released a statement on the same.

“Son Heung-Min was removed from the player’s protection due to a right calf muscle sprain, which was conducted yesterday after training because he felt discomfort in his right calf.”
