PSG enter the race for Tottenham target Franck Kessie
According to Foot Mercato (h/t ESPN), PSG have entered the race for Tottenham target Franck Kessie. The French giants are keen on signing the 24-year-old Ivorian whose contract is up next year and are willing to offer him a wage packed of €9 million which is a bit more than what AC Milan have offered.
After a successful transfer window this summer, Spurs and Fabio Paratici are already looking towards the next one. Plans are being made to go after a certain few names in 2022 and one of them is Franck Kessie. The Milan midfielder is a well-rounded player who can protect the backline and score goals as well.
He was a huge part of the Milan side that pushed Inter all the way for the Serie A last season but eventually missed out. However, his reputation has grown a great deal, with a number of clubs now after him. The biggest advantage is that his contract runs down in less than a year and foreign clubs can approach him over a free transfer in January.
Spurs were keen on the player but now it seems they will have some competition. PSG are now in the race to sign Kessie and they have prepared a wage packet of €9 million-a-year which is more than what Milan are offering. They have also held talks with technical director Paolo Maldini to ask about a potential sale in January itself.

It would seem PSG are ahead in this race to sign Kessie. His signing would add another to the long list of high profile names they signed for free in recent times. For now, Spurs still have time as nothing can happen until January. However, we will need to get things in order if we are to pip PSG to Kessie’s signing.
