Tottenham target Adama Traore tipped to reject Wolves contract
Speaking to Football Fancast (h/t Football.london), Graham Roberts has tipped Tottenham target Adama Traore to reject a new contract from Wolves. The former Spurs defender believes the winger could look for a better club that vaguely hints at a move to Spurs.
If one were to look at Spurs’ forward line, not a lot of players inspire confidence. Apart from Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, the rest provide hardly any type of goal threat. Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura are decent options but if Spurs want to improve, they need to get better players to supplement Kane and Son and also add to the squad depth.
Adama Traore is one of the best in the league in his position. After years of struggle, the 25-year-old found some consistency at Wolves and is known to trouble defenders regularly with his style of play. Spurs really tried to get their hands on Traore over the summer but they ultimately fell short and Traore has remained at the Molineux.
Traore’s contract renewal has been dragging on for a while. His current deal ends in 2023 but an extension could also be on the cards. However, former Spurs defender Graham Roberts was of a different opinion.
“If you’re Traore and you’re looking to play at a higher level, why would you sign a new contract at Wolves? It doesn’t make sense.”

Roberts did not mention Spurs but there is a vague sort of hint in that statement. It’s not clear if Spurs and Paratici return for Traore in January or next season. Getting him next season should be a bit easier with just a year being left at the time. However, a lot of this will depend on Traore penning a new deal with Wolves.
