Transfer News: Tottenham could get boost in chase for Marco Asensio

According to transfer news from Marca (h/t Mirror), Tottenham target Marco Asensio is unsettled at Real Madrid. That has put clubs like Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan on alert who have been after him. Apparently, the Spaniard is considering his options at this point.

When Asensio burst onto the scene at Real Madrid, almost immediately he was tipped to become a future star. He followed that trajectory for the next two or three seasons but slowly injuries took a toll on his form. He lost his place in the side as other players kept impressing and he found it hard to get back into the fold.

Over the summer, he was linked to various Premier League sides including Tottenham but he decided to stay and fight for his place. With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm now, he has resorted to other names like Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo to do his job. That has left Asensio out in the cold with his game time being severely depleted.

With the season gaining pace and the 25-year-old not getting regular games, he is said to be considering his options. There is said to be ‘tension’ at Real Madrid over Asensio’s situation. Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and AC Milan have had their ears perked up with these recent developments between club and player.

Spurs might have missed out on Asensio in the summer but they might be tempted to revisit that interest due to the current situation. The attack has looked unimaginative at times and could use a creative presence like Asensio. It remains to be seen if Spurs really return for him later.
