Tottenham Hotspur fans react as Arsenal defeat Spurs in the derby
Tottenham Hotspur’s poor run of form in the Premier League continued as they were hammered 3-1 by arch-rivals Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday.
Going into the game, it was always going to be a daunting test as the Lilywhites had last picked up a victory at the Emirates just over a decade ago. Moreover, Spurs were going into this game on the back of two consecutive 3-0 defeats, both against London rivals Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
However, Lucas Moura had returned from injury while Tanguy Ndombele was also recovering some of his old form. But, Spurs were blown away in the first half an hour itself.
This was an Arsenal side that had not scored 3 goals in total before the game started today but all of it changed when Bukayo Saka started running at Sergio Reguilon and crossed the ball into a dangerous area. Emile Smith Rowe made a darting run and put the ball in the back of the net.
The second goal was a ferocious counter-attack as Spurs left too many men ahead, and Smith Rowe capitalized on it yet again. However, this time, he laid the ball down on a platter for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who found the net. Just a few minutes later, it was Saka again causing all sorts of problems again.
Harry Kane lost the ball in the Arsenal half, and Arteta’s men counter-attacked again. Even though Kane made a great recovery run and put in a great challenge to stop Saka’s shot, the ball came back into the youngster’s feet, and he finished emphatically.
Spurs did retaliate after the break and had a penalty call rejected early into the second half. They did, however, get their goal 10 minutes from time as Heung-Min Son found the back of the net. Although they continued to probe and made Aaron Ramsdale make a great save, it was too late for them.
The defence was wayward for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side today, and they have now conceded three goals in their last three Premier League games.
We take a look at how some fans reacted to the loss on Twitter.

Well, better second half…
I wanted Potter before I wanted Nuno, but he wouldn't be able to fix this.
Nuno isn't to blame, these issues are deep rooted. Lacking depth – never built with Poch.
Gil and Skipp offered fight at end.
On to Thursday, please don't lose that one.
