Tottenham Hotspur have been urged to make a move for Club Brugge star Hans Vanaken by his father
Speaking in an interview (h/t Express), the father of Club Brugge ace Hans Vanaken has urged Tottenham Hotspur to come and sign his son.
One of the success stories in this year’s Champions League was Club Brugge holding French giants Paris Saint-Germain to a draw at home. The Belgian club are currently sitting 2nd in the group now, ahead of the likes of the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and the ever-exciting German club RB Leipzig.
However, the reason the Belgian Pro League side are in that position is due to their attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken.
The 29-year-old scored the equalizer against PSG while he also scored the first goal of the game against Leipzig in mid-week. At Brugge for over half a decade now, the Belgian has managed to score 91 goals and provide 63 assists in 299 appearances.
His father has now come out and has urged the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal to sign him next summer. He told reporters in an interview (h/t Express):
“One more top year with Club, maybe a third Golden Shoe, and then a top transfer. Arsenal, Tottenham – let those teams come.”
Spurs were on the lookout for a goal-scorer this summer but failed to sign either Dusan Vlahovic or Lautaro Martinez. Harry Kane has been the long-term goal provider for the club, while Heung-Min has also chipped in during recent seasons.

However, with Tottenham said to be willing to let go of Dele Alli next summer, signing a goal-scoring midfielder would be a clever decision. Vanaken could be an immediate fix and might also provide a lot of impetus to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Anyhow, only time will tell whether the North London club will actually come in with an offer for the 29-year-old Belgian next summer.
