Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso confirms Dusan Vlahovic contract issues amidst Tottenham Hotspur links
Speaking to Tuttomercato Web (h/t football.london), Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has confirmed that there is a lot of uncertainty over a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic.
The 21-year-old Serie A striker was continuously linked to Spurs this summer, but Fabio Paratici could not orchestrate a move for the Serbian before the end of the transfer window. However, it does seem as though that saga is going to end there.
Although Fiorentina have been more than willing to provide the youngster with a new contract, Vlahovic is yet to put pen to paper on any extension on his current deal.
Club president Rocco Commisso recently confirmed that there is uncertainty over an extension despite the fact that the Serie A outfit. are offering the striker the largest figure ever in the history of the club. He told Tuttomercato Web (h/t football.london):
“I do not know if he will sign, we are calm. We have been working on it for months, one day we are positive, others less. But I am neither positive nor negative (now),”
“What I say is that it would be the largest figure ever given to a Fiorentina player, including [Gabriel] Batistuta and Rui Costa…I was working a year to take what it would take in two or three days. [I’m annoyed] a little bit, yes, Fiorentina is not just Vlahovic, the group is there, and we want to keep it focused.”

Vlahovic scored 21 goals in the Italian League last season and has continued his good form into this season. The Serbian has already knocked in 6 goals in 7 appearances this term, and Tottenham would be hoping to try and lure the player to North London again.
Harry Kane is perhaps the only out-and-out centre-forward at the club, and there could be a need to provide some back-up or even somebody to play alongside him. Spurs are competing in four competitions this season, and signing the 21-year-old will only help Nuno Espirito Santo & co in contending for trophies.
