Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane claims he was surprised to feature after half-time vs NS Mura
Speaking in his post-match interview with BT Sport (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane has revealed that he did not expect to come on during the game against NS Mura.
Tottenham picked up their first group stage victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League against NS Mura on Thursday night. After being held 2-2 against Rennes in Matchday 1 of the competition, it was a resilient performance by the Lilywhites against the Slovenian outfit.
Two goals in the opening ten minutes from Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli meant that the hosts would be in the lead at the end of the first half. However, a goal early into the second half by NS Mura led to Nuno Espirito Santo calling his star centre-forward in Harry Kane off the bench.

The Englishman was given some much-needed rest after featuring continuously since the start of September for club & country. However, his services were needed eventually, and the 28-year-old delivered a hat-trick.
After the game, Kane explained how he did not expect to come off the bench. He told BT Sport (h/t Daily Mail):
‘Every striker wants to score goals. I probably wasn’t expecting to come on today, but it’s nice to get the minutes. Whenever you see the ball hit the back of the net it’s a good feeling. Hopefully, we can take it into the weekend. It was nice to come off the bench and score a few goals.’

The three goals would have been a huge boost for the English international as he has failed to net a single Premier League goal this season.
Thus, with Aston Villa on the weekend, Tottenham’s main man will be hoping to break his duck and lead his side to victory as he did so brilliantly against NS Mura on Thursday night.
