Oliver Skipp reveals what Tottenham Hotspur players think about Nuno Espirito Santo amidst talks of sack
Speaking in an interview before Tottenham Hotspur’s game against Aston Villa (h/t Express), Oliver Skipp explained that the team is still behind Nuno Espirito Santo despite the club’s poor run of form.
Spurs are on a rancid run where they have lost three Premier League games in a row. It comes as a stark contrast to Nuno’s start at the club, where the Portuguese won the manager of the month and guided Spurs to first on the table after three matches.
Following the club’s poor run in the Premier League, there have been talks surrounding Nuno being sacked, and Oliver Skipp has now had his say on the matter.
The 21-year-old midfielder states that the squad is still backing the former Wolves boss, and that the 5-1 thrashing of NS Mura will give a much-needed boost to the club.
Skipp makes Nuno claim
“As a group we are fully aware that in those last few games, we haven’t been at our best. We’re definitely still behind the manager – and trying to implement stuff that we are working on. It was always going to take time coming into this environment.
Spurs could only make the UEFA Europa Conference League last season but the club wouldn’t want to pass up on the chance to win their first major trophy since 2008.
“It was important just to get that feeling of winning again. It’s the right step and we showed signs of building on things we’ve been working on.”
