Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier opens up on performances under Nuno Espirito Santo

The 47-year-old manager and his squad have come under a lot of scrutiny after a run of defeats in the PL that included an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to fellow rivals Arsenal.
The English international commented on the current situation:
“For me it doesn’t really matter, as players we have to perform and there are some levels you can’t drop below and we definitely did last weekend and that has nothing to do with the manager.”
Nuno had a great start to the campaign with the Lilywhites as the North London club sat on the top of the PL table after 3 games. A reverse in fortune has left many people in doubt as to the Portuguese manager’s long-term future at the club.
Tottenham’s main man Harry Kane has been going through a goal drought but a spirited performance by Son Heung-Min helped ease a little bit of the pressure on the former Wolves boss in their latest Premier League fixture as a goal by Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and own goal from Matt Target helped Spurs secure the three points.
Dier also went on to make further statements on his fellow Spurs teammates:
“Looking at it from the other side, we maybe could have started the second half better, it is something we still need to improve on but the reaction to the 1-1 was fantastic and we really put our foot on the gas and created a lot of chances and got the goal.”
Nuno’s seemingly rosy initiation into Tottenham Hotspur has been cut short, but the defender has urged the Tottenham faithful to keep their trust in the boss. This Spurs side will be looking to continue on the path to victory after their latest PL fixture.

The 47-year-old manager may require some time with Spurs if he is to make any substantial impact with the club. He has already established himself as a potentially great manager with Wolves but the English top-flight can be really unforgiving especially for the top clubs and failure to record consistent victories may even lead to unforeseen circumstances.
