International watch: Tottenham star Richarlison impresses for Brazil while Harry Kane and Eric Dier fall flat with England.

Eric Dier believes Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane will break his duck in the Premier League soon

Speaking in an interview (h/t Mirror), Eric Dier has backed Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Kane to end his goal drought in the Premier League soon.

The 28-year-old superstar has quite possibly been one of the best centre-forwards in the last decade in the Premier League, having won 3 Premier League Golden Boots in the same period.

Last season, Kane netted in 23 league goals and also provided 14 assists in the process. Thus, the quality is certainly there, but the Englishman has not been able to find the net in the Premier League this season. Besides being unavailable for selection in the season opener against Manchester City, the striker has featured in all the games for the club.

Given that he has scored 6 goals across the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League, teammate Eric Dier believes it will not be long before the forward breaks his duck in the league as well. Dier told reporters in an interview (h/t Mirror):

“Harry came back late for the start of the season because of the Euros, like quite a few players did after the Copa America as well, so those players are just finding their feet which is normal.

“Obviously because Harry is Harry, there’s more attention on him than a lot of other players around the league who are experiencing the same thing right now. But I have no doubt about Harry’s qualities, performances, or goals because they will definitely come, and when they come there will be a lot of them, you can be sure of that.”

The Englishman will now have his eye on the 17th of October when Spurs visit St. James’ Park for a clash against 19th placed Newcastle United. The Magpies have conceded the joint-most goals (16) this season, and Kane will like his chances of adding another one to their tally.
