Transfer News: Newcastle United are weighing up a huge move for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane
According to Eurosport (h/t The Express), Newcastle United are keen on making a statement signing and are ‘dreaming’ of adding Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane to their ranks.
For the last half a decade, the 28-year-old has been one of the best strikers in the Premier League, if not world football. His incredible goal-contributions season after season have propelled Spurs to compete for a Top 4 spot as well as challenge for the biggest trophies.
Last season alone, Kane signified his importance to the North London outfit as he won the Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals to his name while he also picked up the Premier League Playmaker of the Year with 14 assists. This led to Spurs inching rivals Arsenal to a spot in this year’s UEFA Europa Conference League.
However, there was a lot of commotion regarding a move to Manchester City this summer, and while the Etihad outfit tried to lure him out of there, Daniel Levy stood his ground. But that might not be the end of the Englishman’s transfer saga.
That is because Newcastle United, who have recently been acquired by Saudi owners with a net worth in excess of £320billion, are weighing up a move for Kane.
The Geordies made a statement signing when they brought in Alan Shearer in 1996 by making him the most expensive player of the time.

The St. James’ Park outfit want to do the same thing with the Tottenham ace and are aware that his contract will expire in 2024 and is also valued by Spurs at around £150million. However, club director Amanda Staveley is keen on adding a lot of English talent to the current Newcastle squad.
While that might be the case, it remains to be seen if a star player like Kane would settle for a club that might not be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
