Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic
According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t football.london), Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic despite a recent snub by Fabio Paratici.
The North London club have only managed to score 6 league goals this season and are suffering up top with Harry Kane yet to find the back of the net this term. The dry spell has led to Spurs losing three games out of seven, and they could certainly do with their wingers contributing more.
However, it looks like the club have already identified a target who could supply the goals and also take the load off Kane. Dusan Vlahovic has been monumental for Fiorentina in recent seasons and turned supersonic last year as he banged in 21 goals in 37 Serie A games.
Things have hardly changed this season as the Serbian has scored four goals in seven appearances and is a huge reason why the club are 5th on the league table, just 3 points shy of a Top 4 place.
Lack of a backup centre-forward has meant that Kane has had to feature in nearly every game this season, and getting in a young and potent striker like Vlahovic could do a world of good for the Englishman.
In fact, Spurs have already got the ball rolling as there is said to be contact amongst all parties. This is a huge U-turn as Spurs’ director of football, Fabio Paratici, recently stated that they have no plans of signing the 21-year-old. But things might have changed after the striker rejected a new deal at the Italian club.
