Nuno Espirito Santo believes Tanguy Ndombele can yet do more for Tottenham Hotspur this season
In an interview with Sky sports, Tottenham Hotspur manager, Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted that French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele can still do more for the club this season.
the 24-year-old had a great match against Newcastle United on Sunday as he opened the scoring for Tottenham Hotspur on the night. The Lilywhites have had a rocky start to this Premier League campaign but the victory against the Magpies would have certainly helped lift the morale in the dressing room.
The French international’s superb striker saw the North London club equalize against the Toons after going behind early on in the game. There was no looking back from that moment as Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min increased the lead for the North London club in the first-half comeback.
Nuno believes that despite his good performance, Ndombele still has a lot to give to Spurs. The former Olympique Lyonnais player has had an indifferent time at the club so far but has shown himself capable of producing moments of magic. The Portuguese manager also highlighted that the club has to be very patient with the French international.
Tanguy has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists for the Lilywhites in 57 Premier League appearances so far. Nuno would be hoping that Ndombele will continue this run of form as his squad progresses in the season.
Tottenham have been largely reliant on Kane and Son for goals. The lack of contribution from midfield is a major issue and Ndombele can help tackle just that. He has an eye for goal and should start using it to greater effect.
