Tottenham Hotspur are interested in prolific Genk striker Paul Onuachu
According to Daily Mail (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur are amongst a list of clubs that are interested in signing Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu.
The 27-year-old striker has been a dependable asset for K.R.C. Genk. He has scored 56 goals and provided 7 assists in 84 matches for the club across all competitions so far. A towering presence of A man, the striker could be a great asset for Tottenham Hotspur.
Harry Kane has been the main striker for the Lilywhites so far and has produced exceptional results since breaking into the first team. The North London club have relied heavily on the English striker in the past few seasons but he has found it difficult to get going this season.
The 28-year-old striker finally managed to get his first Premier League goal of the season against Newcastle United on Sunday. This will hopefully be a turning point in his season amidst continuous links to fellow rivals Manchester City.
If any such thing were to happen the purchase of the Nigerian player would be more of a necessity rather than a luxury. Onuachu could also help Nuno Espirito Santo rotate his squad to preserve the fitness of some of his core players.
Joining the Premier League would definitely be a big step up from his current team and the 27-year-old Nigerian could take some time to adapt to the conditions in England. Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Southampton, and West Ham are some of the other clubs that are allegedly interested in securing Onuachu’s services.
