Tottenham Hotspur fans react as the club’s UEFA Conference League campaign threatens to go up in smoke
Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision to take a weakened squad to the Netherlands blew up spectacularly for Tottenham Hotspur as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Vitesse in their UEFA Conference League match.
The loss leaves Spurs with just four points after three games in the competition. This puts them behind Rennes and Vitesse in the standings. Spurs took to the field sans Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, two of the club’s best attackers.

Despite that Nuno put out a side capable of securing all three points on the night. The visitors were outplayed on the night and were limited to just one shot on target. Vitesse dominated the game and Maximilian Wittek’s 78th-minute strike was enough to secure all three points.
It is back to the drawing board for Nuno and his men as they look to get over this latest setback. Steven Bergwijn and Pierluigi Gollini talked about winning the competition before kick-off but neither could back it up with their performance on the night.
We now take a look at how Tottenham fans reacted to the news on Twitter.

Thank god I was busy doing anything else. Seriously, this team is so boring to watch

Turns out if you completely take the piss with a lineup you lose the game. I am shocked.

Terminate Davies, Winks and Alli contracts.

Forget the result idec tbh. But Dele and Winks can be released in Jan. Dane needs a loan. We need another ST. Need Gil minutes in the league. Not one player in this team is touching our first team. But fucking hell we need depth in Jan. 2 midfielders and a striker

Spurs need to put in a formal complaint about the refereeing of this game. It’s a disgrace. The manager and players cannot stay quiet. They have to be vocal. Genuinely that refereeing was corrupt. Team was awful but refereeing was the worst I have ever seen. Disgraceful

Some players out there tonight who should never wear the shirt again. They’ve been given chances and proved they’re not at the level we aspire to be. Move them on asap.

Sick of this one foot in, one foot out way we are taking this competition.
If we dont care then play the kids. If it is important then pick a team to win.
I give every man plenty of time to prove his worth but i am running out of patience with Nuno and few of these players.— darren (@darrenpigott01) October 21, 2021
Tonight showed just how much a failure Daniel Levy’s transfer policy has been.
Absolutely pathetic from all of them. They should be nowhere near a Premier League team.
