Nuno Espirito Santo believes Harry Kane will start scoring more for Tottenham Hotspur after ending drought vs Newcastle United
According to The Independent, Nuno Espirito Santo thinks that Harry Kane will score more goals after the striker broke his domestic duck in the game against Newcastle United. Nuno spoke about this situation in a pre-match press conference ahead of the match against West Ham United.
The 28-year-old had a very difficult start to the 21-22 season as he underwent a goal drought that lasted for six Premier League games. However, the striker did score in the other competitions his side was involved in.
The Portuguese boss has tipped the forward to score more freely after he scored his first goal in the league this season. Tottenham had trouble in front of goal and much of it coincided with Kane’s lack of a good goal-scoring output.
“It was important for Harry, it was important for us. We know Harry is a fantastic footballer, goals are part of his game. It will give him confidence and he is in a good moment now.”
The Englishman had a whopping 33 goals and 17 assists last term in 49 matches across all competitions. Spurs would need a similar season from the England international if they are to have a shot at silverware this season.
Santo will be needing the centre-forward at his best against West Ham who are a transformed side under David Moyes. Tottenham lead the Hammers by a single point in the league and would be looking to get all three points from the away fixture.
