Jamie O’Hara reveals his thoughts on Tanguy Ndombele and the current lack of creativity at Tottenham Hotspur
In conversation with talkSPORT (h/t Football.London), former Tottenham Hotspur player Jamie O’Hara spoke on Tanguy Ndombele. He also asses the lack of creativity after the loss to West Ham United.
Tottenham Hotspur had to suffer another defeat to a fellow London rival in the Premier League this season. The Hammers edged past the Lilwyhites courtesy of a header from Michail Antonio in the 72nd minute. The North London club have had a rocky start to the season with glaring inconsistencies throughout their campaign.
Tanguy Ndombele has played 82 games for Spurs across all competitions so far during which he has scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists. The French midfielder made the club record £53.8m switch from Olympique Lyonnais to the Lilywhites.
O’Hara went on to point out the difficulties that Tottenham were having in the middle of the pitch. He also highlighted the need for a consistent attacking threat:
“We just have a distinct lack of creativity. The No.10 position for us is a massive problem. I don’t think Ndombele is good enough, he does things in drips and drabs really. He’ll do something out of the blue and you’ll think he’s got something and then he goes missing for 15 minutes. Creativity is a huge huge problem for us.”
This scathing attack is backed by the fact that Spurs failed to register a single shot on target in the second half. The 24-year-old midfielder has struggled to be consistent in this North London squad and performed well in bits ad pieces.
The Lilywhites struggle in the final third of the pitch this season has been further insinuated with their star striker Harry Kane yet to get going in the Premier League. The 28-year-old striker has only scored 1 goal in 8 PL appearances this season which means that the attack has suffered on the whole.

The Spurs faithful would be hoping that Ndombele can maintain some consistency for the North London club and help them create a more attacking brand of football in the rest of the matches that are to be played this campaign. This would certainly be a big boost to Nuno Espirito Santo who has struggled to get the team going this season.
