Manchester United consider sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before clash vs Tottenham Hotspur
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are considering sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of their fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils are without a win in their last 4 Premier League fixtures. They are currently 7th in the PL table and to add salt to the wounds, suffered a humiliating defeat to Liverpool in their latest encounter. The day was made worse with Paul Pogba getting a red card for a rash tackle on Naby Keita as they lost 0-5 in their own backyard.
Tottenham too had to suffer a defeat against West Ham United courtesy of a Michail Antonio header in the latter stages of the game. Nuno Espirito Santo may also be under some pressure after losing all his London derbies in England’s top-flight football league this season.
After the humiliating loss to Liverpool, Solskjaer maintained his composure and backed himself but it only seems like a matter of time before he may have to let go of the post:
“I do believe in myself, I do believe that I am getting close to what I want with the club. I think what we’ve done, what I’ve seen, the development, of course, the results lately haven’t been good enough, it’s hands up and that brings doubt in anyone’s mind probably.”
That being said it feels as though the Norwegian manager is in a tougher position than the Portuguese one at the moment. The former Manchester United player hasn’t won a single trophy ever since he became the manager of the Red Devils and a string of disastrous results could see him out of the door.
