Tottenham Hotspur loanee Kion Etete shares his thoughts after scoring streak for Northampton FC in the Football League Two
In his post-match comments (Northampton Chronicle and Echo), Tottenham Hotspur loanee Kion Etete spoke about his excitement after striking his second goal in as many games for Northampton. The 19-year-old achieved the distinction in games against Stevenage F.C. and Tranmere Rovers F.C.
The teenage forward made his way through the Spurs U-18 and U-23 squad, impressing in both age groups. Etete has scored 4 goals in 16 matches across all competitions for the Cobblers. He has looked in good nick in recent games for the club.
The first team experience is valuable for any youngster looking to make to build his football career at the top level. The 19-year-old seems to be developing in a good way and would be high on confidence given his recent success. Northampton are currently in 3rd position in the EFL League Two.
The Tottenham loanee expressed his joy after scoring the goal. He also wished that he continues this form for the rest of the season:
“It felt pretty good when it flew off my boot. It was similar to the one I had in the home game against Mansfield. I struck it perfectly and thankfully this time the ball went into the net. I think scoring the other day helped. Getting that first goal is always difficult but as soon as you get it, you get the ball rolling, and hopefully, they’ll keep coming.”
Loan spells are a great way of developing young exciting prospects. This gives them the opportunity to enhance their skill and talent at a higher level. Oliver Skipp is another young player who seems to have immensely benefitted from a loan spell with Norwich City last season.

The Tottenham faithful would be hoping that Etete continues to develop in the same manner and become a potential world-beater for Spurs one day. He is currently having a great spell and Northampton would be lucky if the 19-year-old can continue in this being of form.
