Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a transfer update on Andrea Belotti from Torino coach Ivan Juric
Speaking to SempreInter.com (h/t Football.London), Ivan Juric has revealed that Andrea Belotti would not be leaving Torino in the January transfer window amidst interest from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
The 27-year-old’s future with Toro is up in the air as his contract will expire in the summer of 2022. This means he can leave the club for free and agree on a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in January.
However, the striker is set to stay at the Italian club in the winter transfer window according to his manager Juric. It is believed that he is concerned about his selection in the Qatar 2022 World Cup as a starting spot at Emirates and Spurs is not guaranteed.
“He won’t leave in January, he’ll see himself here till the end of the season. It’s useless to speculate, nothing will happen. I hope he will have a great season, then we will look each other in the eyes and he will choose his future.”
The Italian has not decided to leave the Seria A club meaning he could still decide to stay. However, he also has not agreed to a contract renewal meaning he is still assessing his options.
Earlier, Torino Granata (h/t Football.London), stated that the Turin based club would be open to selling Belotti in January. This was suggested to be the case as the club was fearful of losing him on a free.
