Team News: Nuno Espirito Santo provides an injury update on Tottenham Hotspur duo Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil
According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo has given an injury update on both Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil heading into this weekend’s clash against Manchester United.
Bryan Gil
The young Spanish international was subbed off in Spurs’ Carabao Cup tie against Burnley. He was taken off in the first-half of the game itself in what is suspected to be a hamstring injury.
The Former Sevilla starlet has only made a handful of appearances for the North London club so far and has managed to clock just under 60 minutes in the Premier League this season. One for the future, he could find more minutes made available to him in the upcoming seasons.
He is still settling into life with the Lilywhites and is awaiting a proper assessment regarding the entire situation. Gil looks set to miss the clash against United and will hopefully not be out for too long.
Ryan Sessegnon
The 21-year-old has struggled to make an impact ever since he made the switch to Tottenham Hotspur. Sessegnon was once an emerging prospect but inconsistent performances and lack of quality game time have stalled his progress at N-17.
The former Fulham player is still not involved with the group and the younger was also being tipped with a move away from the club. He would be hoping to return to action soon to make his presence felt after a long absence from the senior squad.
Nuno spoke about Gil and Sessegnon and highlighted that any further assessment could only be made after the next training session. While the youngster has not been ‘ruled out’, it remains to be seen if he will be deemed fit to feature.
“Bryan [Gil] we have a problem with. We are assessing. [Ryan] Sessegnon is not involved, still not in the group. Normal knocks after the game. We still have the training session of this afternoon then we’ll see who starts.”

The Portuguese manager would be hoping to get a favourable result against Manchester United who are going through a bad phase having conceded nine goals in their last two PL fixtures. The 47-year-old manager himself has come under some flak for the lack of attacking threat. A spirited performance against the Red Devils would certainly help Nuno’s case.
