Tottenham Hotspur players are said to be excited about the appointment of Antonio Conte
According to Alex Crook (h/t The Express), players of Tottenham Hotspur are very enthusiastic about the appointment of Antonio Conte as the new coach. Conte is said to have verbally agreed to a contract with Daniel Levy with the announcement expected shortly.
Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked as the coach of Tottenham following the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United. He was the manager for a meagre four months after being appointed in the summer.
It is suggested that the Italian will sign a contract for 18 months, which will make him the manager until 2023. He had rejected an offer from Levy in the summer but was convinced by his former colleague, Fabio Paratici.
“The Tottenham players were told this morning that there would be a swift resolution, unlike the summer of course when it became a real saga in terms of who would be the Tottenham manager.”
Crook has also mentioned that he expects the announcement to be around 11 o’clock since the board wants the former Seria A coach to conduct training. This means that the former Inter Milan coach could manage the team in the Europa Conference League match against Vitesse.
“And the vibe I’m getting is that the Tottenham players are genuinely quite enthused and quite excited by this appointment.”
