Antonio Conte reveals his objectives as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager
Speaking in an interview with the Tottenham Hotspur media via the club’s official Twitter account (h/t The Mirror), Antonio Conte has sent a message to Spurs fans, revealing his objectives as the new manager of the Lilywhites.
Conte was announced as the new coach of Spurs following the sack of Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week. He was the first choice option for Daniel Levy in the summer, but they were not able to reach upon an agreement then.
Levy has got his man eventually, even if it was four months late, and Fabio Paratici has played a major role in convincing the Italian. The 52-year-old boss has said that he wants to repay the trust and belief that people have shown him through silverware.
“To be Tottenham manager, it’s a great pleasure, a great honour. Now for sure I want to repay this trust. My coaching philosophy is very simple – to play good football, attractive football, with passion, for our fans. To have a stable team, not up and down.”
His words would give much assurance to the fans who have been yearning for a trophy since they last won it in 2008. The squad will also be boosted by these words, as they too have been deprived of success in recent years.
“I think that the fans deserve to have a competitive team with a will to fight. We will do everything to deserve their support. For me the new challenge is Tottenham – I want that to become an important part of my managerial career.”
