Fabio Paratici expects results from Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte but downplayed January additions
According to The Independent, the Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, has confidence in Antonio Conte to deliver silverware as the new coach of Tottenham Hotspur. The duo worked together earlier at Juventus.
The Italian signed a contract with Spurs till 2023 with an option to extend should he decide to activate that option. Paratici, the Managing Director played a major role in influencing the new boss to accept the offer.
Paratici believes that the former Chelsea boss, together with the club, can achieve success in the future. He has also asked for patience to build a project that will bear fruit in the long run.
Paratici’s comments hint at an ambition to win trophies. He has however urged the need for patience as the project takes shape. It appears to be a collective project and with the right mentality, there is no reason why Spurs cannot achieve it.
“We are here to do our best to win trophies, big trophy or small trophy. Sometimes you have to be patient to achieve results, you have to be ready to suffer, to sacrifice yourself for the group. This is our mentality and we have to improve in this way.”
However, the former Juve Chief Football Officer was cagey when asked about the possibility of January signings. He has backed the players within the squad to deliver results under the 52-year-old coach.
“Not at all. Because we trust a lot in our players. We are focused to be better, like a club, like a team. We haven’t spoken about players, we have to be focused on our team and then we will see. It is not the right time.”

The information relating to the January signings would be a big blow to the new man in charge and also the fans who would have been looking on in anticipation. Conte has delivered success at his previous clubs, provided he received the players he wanted.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops as it could also be a ploy to not play into the hands of the selling club. Either way, we will know soon just what Conte can do to get the club back to the top.
