Antonio Conte acknowledges that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane needs to improve his game
Speaking in the pre-match presser (h/t The Express), Antonio Conte has admitted that Harry Kane needs to improve his game in various areas to meet the desired standards. He was speaking to the reporters ahead of the game against Everton in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old had one of his best-ever seasons last year as he won the Premier League Golden Boot after scoring 23 goals from 35 appearances. He also had 14 assists to his name as he was also crucial in setting up his teammates.
However, following the failed move to Manchester City in the summer, Kane has not been at his usual best in the league. Some of it could be due to how Nuno Espirito Santo deployed the team, whereas the rest could be down to him not being with the right mind.
“We’re talking an important player [Harry Kane], not only for Tottenham but also for the national team. Harry is a really good player, and for sure we have to work with him and all the players to improve this situation.”
The England captain was not the only one to be challenged to improve by the Italian rather the entire squad was treated equally. The coach believes that his team was not up to the desired mark based on first impressions.
“I have seen this past few days that we need to work a lot to improve many aspects for every single player and not only one, two, three.”
