Antonio Conte will give Dele Alli ‘the possibility to show his talent’ at Tottenham Hotspur
According to Football.London, New Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has said that he will give Dele Alli the chance to showcase his abilities, when the gaffer was asked about the Englishman’s downgrading form.
For the past few seasons, Dele Alli‘s dropping form has been a concern for Tottenham. In 3 years, Spurs had four different managers. Every one of them trusted Alli’s abilities and was aware of his talents. They gave him the chance to prove his worth, but he failed to cement his place in their starting XI.
This season, previous manager Nuno Espírito Santo gave him six starts in the Premier League at the start of the season. But soon, he was dropped from starting eleven and found himself on the bench. In addition to that, He was also neglected in their UEFA Europa Conference League games.
New manager Antonio Conte agreed that he knows the type of quality that the 25-year-old possesses. In a press conference yesterday, he reminiscence the time he had to deal with his qualities on the pitch.
“I remember very well when we played against Tottenham in the past, specifically one game when we lost after 13 wins in a row, and Dele scored twice.”
The 52-years-old veteran manager praised the former MK Dons player and suggested that he’d give him the chance to prove his talents on the pitch.
“Dele is a player that has great potential, physically he is strong, and he is very good. For sure, I give him the possibility to show his talent.”
As it’s a new beginning under a new manager, he suggested that every player in Tottenham had to give him reasons to put his faith in them. He also disclosed that he choose a certain starting XI for any games because he thinks they can win the game for Tottenham.
“For now, we are starting from zero; there is a new coach. I tell every single player, not specifically Dele, show me you deserve to play from the start, and I will give you the chance to start.”
The new manager seems to take a democratic approach towards choosing a starting XI as he has indicated that he’d give every Tottenham player the same chance to earn their spot. This can be an excellent opportunity for Dele to rejuvenate his lost form at Tottenham and display his full potential.
