Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is not worried about Tottenham Hotspur’s approach in the winter transfer window
According to ESPN, when asked about Tottenham Hotspur’s approach in the winter transfer window, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi said he is not worried about Antonio Conte’s intentions to sign some of his key players.
After taking the Tottenham job, Antonio Conte has made his intentions clear to reshape his Spurs squad. Furthermore, he is targeting some of his former players at Inter Milan for the January transfer window.
Tottenham have been already linked with Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij, Lautaro Martinez and Milan Skriniar after the former Inter manager took over the reign from Nuno Espírito Santo.
This could indicate a busy transfer window for Tottenham but could be concerning for Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi, who is looking to defend the Seria A title this season.
When asked about his reaction to the recent transfer rumours regarding some of his key players, he stated that he is focused on the task at hand.
“I’ve never thought about them; I am focused on games. It’s too early to think about January; we just think about the derby [on Sunday evening].”
Inter Milan stands in the 3rd position currently after winning seven games in 11 appearances. To sustain their title hopes, they’d need to defeat city rival AC Milan.
Tottenham target Nicolo Barella, who has topped the list for assists this season in Seria A, could feature in that match. To successfully defend the title, the Inter manager would require such key players’ contributions.
The transfer talks are premature now, but as we reach closer to January, the Nerazzurri manager could face difficulty denying the concerns.
