Tottenham Hotspur star Oliver Skipp suspended for the clash against Leeds United
According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp will miss the match against Leeds United in the Premier League after he racked up five yellow cards. He picked up the latest one in the draw against Everton at Goodison Park.
Antonio Conte will face yet another obstacle as he will be missing the services of the 21-year-old in the next game. He has started the midfielder in his first two games as the Spurs manager and has been consistent in both these games.
Skipp picked up the yellow card in the 92-minute after he had stopped a dangerous counter from the Toffees. It will be a big blow, as he had been solid throughout this season and has continued that under the new boss.
While nothing spectacular, the England international helped multiple times to ensure stability was achieved in midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. His consistency will be a key asset for Conte as he could look to count on the player in the future.
Spurs were held to a 0-0 draw by Rafael Benitez’s side, and they remain in the ninth position in the league. Having 16 points from the 11 matches, they are well behind the top four places and will need to rally in the upcoming games.
The substitution of Giovani Lo Celso at the end helped to switch gears as Tottenham struggled for creativity throughout the game. He nearly gave his team the three points after a brilliant play saw his shot hit the post.

The Spurs manager will have something to think about in the international break to find the right balance between creativity and solidity. The Skipp and Hojbjerg midfield duo offer security and progression but, they still have issues in the final third, as was the case throughout this season.
Whether the yougnster will go on to reinvent himself under Conte or take his performance to a higher level remains to be seen.
