Tottenham full-back Ben Davies praises ‘role model’ Gareth Bale after 100th caps
According to Independent, Tottenham full-back, Ben Davies provided big praise for Spurs icon Gareth Bale after he completed his 100th game for Wales.
Gareth Bale has recently been linked with another return to the north London team. The Welsh winger is not enjoying a good time at Santiago Bernabeu, struggling for time- and that has been the case for a few seasons now.
The Real Madrid player had an incredible spell with Spurs between the year 2007 and 2013. He already returned for a cameo of a one-season loan spell last season. But he was shipped back to Los Blancos after the end of his loan term this summer.
Bale reached a landmark with his national team in the qualifier game against Belarus on Saturday. He featured in the 100th game of his career for Wales and became only the second player to achieve the feat.
The Spurs full-back Ben Davies praised the effort of his teammate to reach the incredible milestone and hailed the ‘commitment’ and ‘determination’ that the 32-year-old player showed along the way.
“What he has done for Welsh football has been incredible. To reach the 100 mark, which I know he has really been pushing for a while, is amazing.”
Davies also added how he views the achievement and what the Real Madrid forward means to him.
“For us as a squad, what a role model we have in him.”
Bale only played the first half of the game against Belarus. But he stated that it was only a precautionary measure, and he is optimistic about starting the final match against the world’s top-ranked side Belgium.

The veteran striker certainly contributed a lot to the North London team. But his current state can be a concern. The player suffered a hamstring injury and it sidelined him for two months. The recent game against Belarus was his first outing after the long injury break. Furthermore, he isn’t getting any younger. So The Spurs board has a big decision to make if they decide to sign him in the future.
