Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are keen to sign Weston McKennie in January
According to the Express, Tottenham boss, Antonio Conte and sporting director, Fabio Paratici are in agreement to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old is having a rather volatile career in Italy. Sometimes his performance attracts a lot of eyes, but some days it remains bland. However, his potential is clear for all to see.
McKennie has shown tireless running and exceptional passing accuracy in his stint with Juventus. This season he has bagged two goals in 13 appearances. What makes him unique is his all-around ability to play in any midfield position.
Tottenham Sporting director was in charge of transfers for the Old Lady when the American player moved to Turin from Schalke. It seems Fabio Paratici tried to reunite with him at Tottenham in the summer but the plan did not come off.
This time, Paratici has the backing of his Italian boss, who had the chance to closely follow the youngster while working with Inter Milan. It seems Conte also agrees with the director about the requirement to sign the former FC Schalke player.
Now that they are on the same page, Paratici has already made his first move by enquiring about the midfielder to Juventus. Now that he knows the price tag on the USMNT player, it would be easier for the board to form a structured offer to lure the youngster in the January transfer window.
It is believed that the 23-year-old midfielder is currently worth £29million. But it seems Antonio Conte’s team is not the only concerned team. West Ham United have also enquired about the player and ate keeping tabs on the situation.
