Transfer Update: Tottenham Hotspur leading the race to sign Batern Municn star Corentin Tolisso
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have the upper hand over Inter Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Bayern Munich star Corentin Tolisso.
The Frenchman burst onto the scene as one of the most talented prospects of the game earlier last decade. An impressive player for Lyon, he moved to Bayern Munich in 2017. While he has had his moments at the Allianz Arena, injuries have largely prevented him from hitting top form.
Seria A giants Juventus were hoping to secure the deal. Fabio Paratici, who was in charge of transfers for the Old Lady at that time, battled with Bayern Munich to lure the French player. But eventually, it was the German giant who secured the midfielder by a whopping €40million investment.
Having missed on that occasion, Fabio Paratici hasn’t given up on the pursuit of the 27-year-old. It seems after coming to Tottenham; he has rekindled his quest to land the midfielder.
Despite having a prosperous start, Tolisso couldn’t live up to the expectations at Bayern Munich. He suffered a ligament injury in his second season at the club, which limited his exposure. After that, every season, the injuries kept lingering. This season hasn’t been any different as he suffered from calf problems. Amid such an injury-ridden career, he has only managed 104 appearances for Die Roten.
Despite making few appearances, he no doubt remains a quality player for the midfield position. It seems he is keen to rebuild his career away from the German club. Currently in the final year of his career, he is believed that he could leave Allianz Arena for free the following summer.
