Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte on Alessandro Del Piero visit to Hotspur way
Speaking in the pre-match presser (h/t Evening Standard), Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte had revealed his feelings surrounding the visit of Alessandro Del Piero and the interaction with Harry Kane. The boss was talking ahead of the match against NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Del Piero is widely considered one of the best strikers football has ever seen and is a legend of the game. His visit would have been an uplifting moment for the entire squad. It would also help boost their morale to have a man of his status come to visit them.
The former Italian striker came to England to commentate on the Champions League match between Chelsea and Juventus and talk about the situation that is unravelling at Manchester United on Sky Sports.
Conte and Del Piero were teammates at Juventus before the former took up the manager’s role at the club. The duo have experienced mush success together and share a history of positive involvement in the game.
“Alessandro came here to visit us at the training ground. It was good to see him. We played together, I coached him and together we won a lot in our career. It was good to see him after a long time.”
Conte was happy to see his former friend at the Hotspur Way training centre and mentioned that they had not seen each other for quite some time. He then tipped that the Italian legend may have given some advice to Harry Kane during his visit.
“Yeah but we are talking about two world-class strikers. It was good for Harry to see Alessandro and it was the same for Alessandro to see him! Alessandro cheers’d all the players and it was good for us.”
Hopefully, Kane has picked up a pointer or two from one of the sport’s most recognizable names. The English skipper has endured a difficult season for Tottenham and will hopefully turn it around soon.

Little moments like these could be helpful to maintain a healthy mentality within the squad. We always talk about the players needing to work on their mindset, but it is also necessary that the managers also have a fresh mind to not get overworked.
The Italian manager would have been delighted to see his former teammate with whom he has won so many titles together.
