Some fans react on Twitter as Tottenham Hotspur defeat Brentford 2-0 at home
According to the club’s official Twitter account, Tottenham Hotspur picked up all three points against Brentford with a 2-0 scoreline.
Spurs missed the chance to face Burnley on the weekend after massive snowfall. However, that was not going to be repeated at our home stadium as we hosted the Bees. Thomas Frank and co, unlike the other newly-promoted teams, have adjusted seamlessly to the new league. They drew against Liverpool and even threw the kitchen sink at Chelsea.
Thus, they were tough opponents but Tottenham made easy work of them. Antonio Conte would have liked his side to control the game and they did. Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp marshalled the midfield and recycled possession effectively.
A well earned win
The first goal came just after 10 minutes, as Son Heung-min won the second ball of a corner. He went past his man, before crossing it into a dangerous area in the box. Ben Davies leapt highest and put Sergi Canos into enough pressure for the defender to put the ball into his own net.
Brentford responded with high pressing as Ivan Toney tried to put Davinson Sanchez under pressure as the Colombian made his first league start under Conte. The first half ended quite soon with Spurs in the lead.
The second half again began with a lot of pressure from the Bees but to no avail. Eventually, 20 minutes into the half, Harry Kane found himself near the half-line with Sergio Reguilon busting a gut to run into the open space. The Englishman found the Spaniard who went clean through and squared the ball to Son, who put the ball in an empty net.
Thomas Frank brought on some of his stars off the bench but Tottenham did not break down. Antonio Conte would have loved the performance, especially after the horrid outing against NS Mura a week ago.
Let us now see how some of our fans reacted on Twitter to a convincing victory on the night.
What a game for Davies tonight, Conte is such an elite manager at improving individuals.

Hard to watch! This team cannot receive a ball, pass to each other and make the right decisions in the final third. Too many mistakes across the back 3 & MF. Never seen a team that gives the ball away with such frequency. Better teams will get points for fun against Spurs

Solid all round. Davies class and Skippy superb, Reggs looked prime Marcelo to me. Still lack a bit of enthusiasm as a team imo but hopefully there are more to come with the right man Conte in charge. #COYS

3 pts. Not convincing. Our right side still needs work, Sanchez gives me the fear. Davies quietly effective. Kane needs a goal and to stay out the way of the defence, they are bad enough without him getting in the way. Winks still poor.

Good performance, slowly starting to see the improvement. More time on the training pitch and better players needed to really refine the team but we’re getting there

Much better performance. Very comfortable win and should of been more. Thought Brentford were going to be a lot better than tonight . Same again Sunday needed #COYS

Conte’s magic starting to shine through, have people like Kane and Davies running for every ball now. A lot to work on but can’t complain with result.
