David Moyes wants to take full advantage of the Tottenham Hotspur covid crisis
According to the Evening Standard, David Moyes has suggested that the Covid crisis could benefit Tottenham Hotspur. However, he wants to acquire as many points as possible amid Spur’s dismal situation.
Spurs have faced a massive dilemma due to their ongoing Covid-19 crisis. The Spurs manager Antonio Conte earlier confirmed that the virus has infected eight first-team players and five staff members. This situation has put their League and European competitions in significant doubt.
The North London team saw their clash against Brighton postponed due to the growing Coronavirus concern. On the other hand, it is improbable that the Spurs would be able to feature in their next league game against Leicester.
The dismal situation provides a chance for West Ham to gain a considerable amount of points lead over Spurs. The Hammers manager David Moyes is optimistic about his team’s approach and suggested that they can capitalize on the opportunities.
“I think it does give us a chance to try and do that. I hope that we can win them and really hammer it home and that we can get ourselves in a really good position.”
Moyes also made an unusual claim about the Coronavirus situation benefiting the North London club. However, The Irons manager believes that after such a massive number of positive cases, the best decision was to prevent the games from happening.
“The Tottenham situation, you never know how it works. It may somehow benefit them. but I agree that more than likely if you’re gonna have that many people with Covid, you call the games off.”
Tottenham currently occupies the fifth position, trailing by one point behind the Hammers. However, Conte’s team has played one game less from the Irons and had the opportunity to get into the top four positions had they beat Brighton.
