Tottenham Hotspur dressing room fear Antonio Conte could leave the club
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur players fear that the new manager Antonio Conte would leave the club if he doesn’t get the necessary reinforcements in the January transfer window.
Having joined in the first week of November, the Italian has shaken things up at Tottenham with his new gruelling training sessions and a strict diet regime. He has helped the players step up their performances and also has taken the club back into top-four contention.
The former Inter Milan manager’s tactics have worked in several matches but holes in his tactics have appeared when Spurs’ key players have gone down injured. The lack of elite-level squad depth is clear and it needs to be addressed quickly.
The injury to Cristian Romero and the loss of form experienced by Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon suggests that the defence requires an immediate boost. Whether it be now or in the summer, Tottenham cannot leave it unaddressed.
On the other hand, the issues surrounding Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombélé has also made the midfield a matter of concern. It is clear that Conte will need to bring in players he can depend upon to get us to where we want.
The front line has also suffered due to the lack of experience in players like Bryan Gil and Jack Clarke. Take Harry Kane and Son Heung-min and we have a playing XI that lacks any credible threat in attack.
The current lack of depth in the Tottenham squad has made the job even tricky for Conte. Now, the players are fearing that the Italian manager could leave the club before completing his 18-months contract term if he isn’t backed in the transfer windows.
Whatever he wants!
Our team performed poorly against Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final when the manager picked some out-of-form players thanks to injuries. The situation did not improve when up against English third-tier team Morecambe in the FA Cup either.
Therefore it’s clear that without the first-choice stars, our team is vulnerable when we go up against elite-level opposition.
The winter window has already started, and our board is yet to make a decisive move. With the FA Cup our last bastion of hope to win a trophy, the focus will now shift to securing a top-four finish ahead of next season.

The Italian showed results when he was provided with the necessary reinforcements at Chelsea and Inter Milan. Therefore our management should trust the process and allow him to sign players that he feels will fit the bill.
