Transfer News: Bruno Lage confirms Wolves haven’t received a bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Adama Traore
Speaking in an interview, as quoted by Football.London, Wolves manager Bruno Lage has hinted that he desires to keep Tottenham Hotspur target, Adama Traore, until the end of this season, and that the club is yet to receive any bid for a potential transfer.
Adama Traore hasn’t bagged any goals or assists in 21 appearances across all club competitions this season; his tangible influence on his current team is gradually decreasing.
Bruno Lage hasn’t started the Spaniard in the last three Premier League matches, which says a lot about his waning trust in the former Barcelona man. A speedy customer down the flank, Traore’s menacing runs are not ending up with goals or assists for Lage’s men in recent times.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were both interested in signing Traore. But it seems the North London sides haven’t approached Wolves for any transfer talks.
Traore to Spurs?
Bruno Lage suggested that the Spaniard indeed wants to play for his current team, and the club hopes to continue the partnership for this season. Despite his lack of goals and assists this season, it is undeniable that the 25-year-old winger is still a terrifying player for defenders to face.
“No, for now, I know nothing about [bids for] Adama. The only thing I can say is it’s the same Adama since the first day. Every time he is training well and doing things as the big professional he is. Nothing has changed. Adama is here with us; he wants to play for us.”
The Wolves manager also revealed that the club has already held talks with Traore regarding his future.
“Yes, that [Traore to stay] is in my mind. Nothing changes. But this is football. The club has talked with Adama before.”
Conte can certainly use a player like Adama down the flanks in his current set-up. He did the same with Victor Moses at Chelsea, which turned the Nigerian’s career around at Stamford Bridge. But it seems that we are yet to formalize any apparent interest that we have in the player.

Matt Doherty hasn’t provided any consistent performance throughout the season and has already fallen down the pecking order. Emerson Royal is doing an okay job since signing in the summer but can use some serious competition down that flank.
Having lost Serge Aurier already, it won’t hurt to add a player like Traore to our team. Not to forget, he is primarily an attacker and can slot in our frontline if required. But to even dream of such scenarios, it is imperative that the club at least submits an offer for the Spain international- if they actually do wish to sign him.
