Tottenham Hotspur in advanced stages to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are at an advanced stage of the negotiations involving Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina. The midfielder is currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he has been impressive so far for Morocco.
Tottenham are looking to get Amrabat on a loan transfer with an option to buy in order to reduce the financial load. He is keen on joining up with them, so we may not have a lot of roadblocks when it comes to reaching an agreement on personal terms with him.
Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are both eager to bring the 25-year-old to N17 to add much-needed quality to their midfield. Spurs are trying to facilitate a move for Tanguy Ndombele and complete the deal before turning their attention towards signing him.
Speed it up!
The loan deal with an option to buy does make sense since we could return the central midfielder if the Fiorentina star does not live up to the expectations at N17. These few months could well be an audition for him to showcase if he can strut his stuff in the Premier League.
Paratici has not backed Conte through signings this month but could take the first step in doing so by getting a deal over the line for the Serie A ace. It is also positive to hear that he ‘only wants Spurs’ as it is never a bad thing to have a player who wants to play for our badge.
Ndombele seems like a potential roadblock, so we have to be on our toes and move him out at the earliest. He has fallen out of favour under Conte and we have to find a solution quickly so that the Moroccan international can be brought to Spurs before the January window closes.
Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso are also in the same boat as the Frenchman so adding a new face to our ranks is certainly a wise idea. Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are the only dependable options as of now.
