Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur plot deadline day moves for Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are plotting to target Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence on the deadline day of the January transfer window. They have not brought in any signings to back Antonio Conte so far this month and now face a race against time to rectify that.
There is a belief at Tottenham that they can secure the signature of Bissouma since he is in line to enter the last year of his contract next summer. They are hopeful that Brighton and Hove Albion would be open to parting ways with him should an appropriate offer be made.
Spurs are also vying for Middlesbrough star Spence, even if he cannot play for them this season. The youngster is currently out on loan at Nottingham Forest, so he cannot play for another club since he has also played for two different clubs this season.
Spurs, please get this done!
We have not even made one signing to the first team in the winter transfer window, which is shocking since there is an obvious need for it. Conte needs backing to bring success to the team but Fabio Paratici and co have failed to do that.
Bissouma has been crucial to Graham Potter’s success at Brighton, which has seen him attract attention from Aston Villa and Newcastle United. We cannot allow a repeat of what happened with Adama Traore and Luis Diaz, and the North London club should do what it takes to get the deal over the line.
The 21-year-old Spence, on the other hand, is a bit of a concern since he cannot play for us instantly this season. We do require additions in the right wingback spot but the youngster is someone who cannot make a difference for us at least until 2022-23. Nevertheless, we cannot pass on this opportunity as Southampton, AS Roma and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation.
Our situation in midfield is concerning since the trio of Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, and Giovani Lo Celso looks to be on their way out. After all, they were left out of the matchday squad to face Chelsea in the Premier League. So it would not be too much of a reach to say that the boss has no plans for them moving forward.

The Malian would be a great asset for us in such a case and would instantly slot into the team due to his quality. He also has experience playing in the Premier League while also impressing with his performances.
Spence however, is still developing and has not reached his potential yet. However, he could be ready to take the next challenge as he was influential in knocking the Gunners out of the FA Cup third round. Only time will tell whether we will sign them tomorrow or not.
