Early Tottenham Hotspur team news ahead of FA Cup clash vs Brighton

According to Lyall Thomas, the assistant news editor of Sky Sports on Twitter, the team news for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their clash against Brighton and Hove Albion has been released. The North Londoners will be looking to use this competition as a means to achieve their first title under Antonio Conte.

Tottenham will face off against Brighton in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday. Son Heung-Min has returned to training after being declared fully fit. Moreover, there are no other injury concerns, handing Conte a massive boost.

Thomas also gave an update on the work permit situation of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. The latter is set to join Spurs tomorrow following international duty with Uruguay. The North London side are still waiting to receive approval permitting both of them to officially start training with the team.

All three in Saturday’s squad?

The availability of Son will be a major boost for us since Spurs have felt his absence in the last few matches. The South Korean suffered a calf injury during the 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals and has not played since. More so, with a fully fit squad at his disposal, Conte can put his best foot forward.

It is still unknown whether we would be able to include Bentancur and Kulusevski into our team before Saturday. However, we hope that is the case since their availability would go a long way in overcoming a strong Graham Potter side.

The Uruguayan is coming off the back of a 4-1 win against Venezuela in the South American 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifiers, where he scored the opener. His morale will be high after helping his country to secure three crucial points as they increased their chances of qualification. Hopefully, he can bring that form to North London.

Kulusevski, on the other hand, will add much-needed depth and quality to the frontline if he gets his work permit ahead of Saturday’s clash. As a result, Fabio Paratici and co would be working overtime to get them integrated into the team as soon as possible. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen.
