Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte vows to make ‘world class’ striker Harry Kane even better
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has vowed to make his talisman Harry Kane even better, calling him a world-class player.
Kane recently bagged a brace against Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The striker seemed to be full of confidence on the pitch, helping the team progress to the next stage of the competition.
Conte said that despite the England skipper being a sharpshooter and an important part of the team, he can help the player improve by working on the tactical aspect of his game.
“Surely when you have a player like Harry, you have to try to involve him in your tactical idea of football. We’re talking about a really good person who shows desire every day in training. He’s available for his team-mates and is always ready to speak about football, to improve and to see new tactical situations.”
Kane seems to be at his scoring best at the moment, with the forward scoring seven goals in his last 11 games in all competitions. With the second half of the season left to play, all eyes will be on the striker to improve his goal ratio.
World-class Kane
Kane has been a huge hit at Tottenham ever since his debut for the club, with the England international being their go-to man when it comes to requiring goals. The striker is not only an excellent finisher but is also capable of turning provider as he has created multiple chances for his teammates as well.
His Italian manager has been delighted with his form, with Conte describing the forward as a world-class football player. He also said that he was helping Kane improve, despite having all the necessary skills to succeed in the game.
“I repeat: We’re talking about a world-class striker and I’m trying to help him to become also better and better. Me, my staff on the physical aspect are working – but not only with him, with all the team.”
After a dismal start to the season, Kane seems to be back to his best, scoring goals regularly and leading the front line on his own. Spurs fans were used to seeing this side of Kane for many years now, and his form earlier in the campaign would have troubled many.
Under Conte’s predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo, the 28-year-old struggled to recreate his goalscoring ability and looked short of confidence. He seemed to have misplaced his scoring boots, and Spurs struggled in the league without Kane’s goals to fire them ahead.

Conte’s arrival seems to have revitalised Kane and seen him return to his best, as was evident in the previous game against Brighton in the FA Cup. If the striker keeps up his current form in front of goal, he may just help the club break its trophy drought and win the cup at the end of the season.
For now, though, Conte will be hoping that Kane delivers once again tomorrow against Southampton, as Spurs look to climb up the Premier League table and secure Champions League football next term.
