Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reflects on tough and disappointing week after Wolves loss
Posting on his Twitter account, Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane admitted that ‘no words will make up’ for the week that the team have had, falling to a third straight league defeat, this time at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Englishman took to social media to express his disappointment after a 2-0 loss against Wolves, which saw Spurs’ opponents put them to the sword in the first half after a calamitous defensive performance.
Kane could not be the hero for Tottenham this time, failing to find the back of the net on what was a tough night for Antonio Conte‘s men. The game ended with the home fans booing the Lilywhites.
Many expected Kane to come good tonight after the striker seemed to find his form recently in the FA Cup after scoring a brace against Brighton to progress into the fifth round of the domestic competition. However, the forward could not replicate his FA Cup form in the Premier League yesterday.
The loss against Wolves saw Tottenham drop down to eighth place in the league table, five points off the fourth spot. With multiple games in hand, Kane and Co. will look to bounce back soon to claim a UCL spot in the table.
The England captain assured his fans that he and the team would keep working hard for their next fixtures, in an effort to turn their fortunes around. With a game against defending champions Manchester City up next in the league, it may be easier said than done.
Kane himself has not had a great season this time around, failing to hit his usual heights and scoring goals for fun. A slow start to the campaign was also accompanied by the fact that Spurs had a change in managerial personnel mid-season, with Conte taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo after Tottenham had a terrible run of form.
Conte’s arrival did seem to make things better for the 28-year-old, with Kane seeming to find some confidence and form in recent weeks. His performance in the FA Cup tie against Brighton suggested so, but the league has not seen any goals from the striker so far this month.

With claims suggesting that Kane would prioritise Champions League football next season, Conte would be desperate to take the side into the top four this campaign and ensure he doesn’t lose out on one of his best players.
As for Kane, the next few months will be crucial as he tries to help his boyhood club finish the season strongly, as well as convince his critics that he can continue to perform at the highest level on a consistent basis.
