Fabrizio Romano: Harry Kane puts off making Tottenham Hotspur contract decision
According to the transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is in no hurry to make a decision to sign a new contract with the club. He was subjected to interest from Manchester City in the last summer transfer window.
Romano reveals that Kane will not take a stance on signing an extension with Tottenham at this moment. However, he added that the forward would decide whether to renew his contract or not in the coming months.
It is still unknown at this point whether Man City would rekindle their interest in the 28-year-old or not next summer. Pep Guardiola recently revealed that they had made four proposals to Spurs, for the English skipper but all of them were turned down by Daniel Levy.
Will Kane stay at Spurs?
Since his contract will only expire in 2024, it is understandable why the Englishman does not want to take a hasty decision regarding his future. Some fans have thought that the appointment of Antonio Conte would have been enough to convince Kane to commit to the club’s cause.
However, that seems not to be the case considering this latest update. The Premier League attacker wants to win trophies during his playing career, but he is divided on whether the North London side could fulfil his desires in the future. Even if Conte shares the same ambitions, it may not be enough to keep the forward at N17.
Recently, the Evening Standard claimed that the England international’s decision to extend his stay could depend on whether the Italian boss is backed with signings in the upcoming transfer windows. That could go in line with what Romano revealed about the situation.

It remains to be seen what choice the Tottenham centre-forward makes in the coming months ahead of the summer transfer window. We hope that he will renew his current deal and help us finally achieve silverware that we have been yearning for quite a long time. Whether that will happen or not would only be known in due time.
What Levy and co. can do in the meantime is try their best to uplift the club’s current level and give themselves the best chance of tying the England skipper down to a new deal. Anything less than that would be a failure as he would play a crucial role in helping us go all the way under the former Inter Milan coach.
