Some fans react on Twitter as Tottenham Hotspur record a breathtaking victory against Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur couldn’t have asked for a better start as January signing Dejan Kulusevski got his first Premier League goal for the North Londoners in the fourth minute of normal time. What ensued after that was high-octane action and drama morphing into a roller coaster ride for the Spurs faithful.
Ilkay Gundogan got on the end of the ball after some scrappy keeping from Hugo Lloris and equalized for Man City in the 33rd minute of normal time. The defending Premier League champions took it up a gear but the Spurs backline held their nerve under the intense pressure.
The presence of Eric Dier at the back seems to have brought a renewed sense of composure at the back. Everyone chipped in from time to time and built a huge fortress around the French goalkeeper’s post which was hard to penetrate on the day.
The Lilywhites conceded a penalty late in added time with Riyadh Mahrez converting from the spot for the Citizens. Just when the fans would have resigned to a draw, Harry Kane pulled out a rabbit from the hat and put the ball in the back of Ederson’s net after a scrumptious cross from Kulusevski.
The home team dominated most of the possession but Tottenham were more clinical on the day with Kane arguably the star of what could be considered as a Premier League classic. It was filled with an offside goal, a late equalizer, and an even later winner which saw the visitors claim their three points.
Whilst the hopes of a top-four finish were seeming like a difficult task, this victory could help put the North Londoners back on track to salvage the season with the hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next campaign.

This was just the kind of performance that the London-based club needed after having lost in their previous three PL fixtures. Spurs have now done the league double over the Citizens and this could be a step in the right direction.
