Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur must part with £25m for Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa
According to Goal (h/t Football.London), Tottenham Hotspur have been handed the valuation to secure the signature of Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa ahead of the summer transfer window. He has certainly been on the rise over the past few years, which has not gone under the radar.
Chelsea tried to sign Sosa in the January transfer window but failed to do so. They lost Ben Chilwell for the remainder of the season and were in the market for a replacement. A move never came to fruition in the end, and Tottenham are now looking to take advantage of the situation.
Spurs now know that they have to part ways with £25milllion in transfer fees to secure his signature ahead of next season. It remains to be seen whether the Blues will rekindle their interest or not and provide competition ahead of next summer.
Borna Sosa to join Spurs?
The price tag seems pretty reasonable for someone who is ready to take the next step in his playing career. Moreover, we could see that drop even further if the Bundesliga side is relegated to the second division at the end of the current campaign.
That being said, Fabio Paratici and co must learn from the mistakes they made doing business in the transfer market last month. The North London side lost Adama Traore and Luis Diaz in the end as they kept dragging things up for too long. Let’s hope they do not do the same this time around as we near the end of the season.
Since the Croatian would most probably slot in the left-wingback role, it will be interesting to see who will get the axe ahead of next term. Sergio Reguilon has done well overall under Conte, even if there has been a drop off at times.

Ryan Sessegnon, on the other hand, has also fared well but not to the same extent as Reguilon. Hence we could see the former being deemed dispensable if we continue our pursuit to sign the 24-year-old from the German club.
At the same time, Conte could shift Sessegnon to the wings as he has experience playing in that position. That could make sense considering how we are not blessed with options in the wide areas. We have to wait and see the outcome of our interest in the Croatian international as we near the summer transfer window.
