Tottenham Hotspur unconcerned about Antonio Conte future despite rant following Burnley loss
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are unconcerned about the future of Antonio Conte at the club despite hints of an exit following the loss to Burnley. They lost 1-0 on the night as they continued their poor form in the league, reducing their chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Conte was seemingly hinting at a potential departure despite joining Tottenham only in November following the defeat. However, Daniel Levy is not worried about the situation as he believes the manager was just hitting out after suffering a damning loss.
Levy is also not angry with the Italian boss as the club chief thinks the reaction was because of the passion he has for the game. Moreover, he is an admirer of the Spurs coach’s winning mentality, which prompted him to lash out during the post-match presser.
A premature exit can be ruled out ahead of the game against Leeds United as the manager was seen to undertake training and recovery sessions with his squad. That being said, the North London side still expect the 52-year-old boss to continue with them even after the shocking press conference.
Same viewpoint
The initial reaction from outside the club was simply trying to milk the situation that had unravelled after the humiliating defeat. We should not get influenced by such talks and be rational about the situation and do what is best for Tottenham going forward.
We were angry and disappointed with the players for the failure to build momentum after the win against Manchester City, just like the former Inter Milan coach. He is known to express his passion on the touchline while being vocal about his opinion.
The manager’s words seem more like a message to the board and the players when applying appropriate context to his words. He was not backed by the hierarchy adequately in the January transfer window as they failed to bring in Luis Diaz and Adama Traore.
That is especially the case considering the four outgoings we had in the Tottenham squad. We only brought in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, which has left us in a precarious situation due to the reduction of depth in the team.

As for the players, the lapses in concentration and failure to perform to their best could be the cause of his frustration. Given his high standards, it is to be expected that the Italian would not take half-hearted performances lying down.
Hopefully, we will fare better in the matches to come and restore the manager’s faith in the club. A pivotal few months lie ahead of the club both on and off the field. How we decide to get on with it could very well decide our future.
