Tottenham Hotspur target Serge Gnabry as complications arise over new Bayern Munich contract
According to the German outlet Bild (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur target Serge Gnabry has found himself in complications with Bayern Munich over a new deal. He has gathered interest from a host of major European clubs as a result of the current circumstance.
Gnabry will see his contract with Bayern Munchen expire at the end of next season. That has prompted them to begin negotiations over a renewal as they are desperate to tie them down on a new deal. He is also eager to renew his current offer, but they are far apart from reaching an agreement at this stage.
Chelsea, alongside Spurs, have become alerted to the situation as they look to get their hands on the German international. Despite the troubles, Bayern are confident that they can extend his contract to 2026 or 2027 as the summer transfer window draws close with each passing day, according to Sky Germany via The Sun.
Do Spurs have a chance?
Supposedly, the 26-year-old “likes London”, but it remains to be seen if that could play a part in our chances of securing his services next summer. However, since he wants to stay at Allianz Arena moving forward, we could have it tough in prising him away under the current situation.
We could get a massive boost if the Bavarian side fails to find common ground with the former Arsenal man. That being said, we must prepare ourselves to jump the gun if a favourable situation awaits us in the future.
Sky Germany via The Sun also claims that Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are monitoring the situation as well alongside the Blues and Tottenham. Signing Gnabry would be a major coup on our part, and a transfer would also send a statement as we look to build a solid project under Antonio Conte.
The Bayern Munich superstar would undoubtedly improve the quality of our squad as he has proven his worth at the very top in recent times. While he had a tough time in England, the winger has put all that behind him and is among the best in his position at this moment.

The German has made 157 appearances throughout his time with the Bundesliga side and has scored 59 goals alongside 39 assists across all competitions. He would uplight the quality of our attack, and his ability to play on both wings and as a second striker would be of great help to Conte.
Whether we can sign Gnabry or not would only be known in due time. Let’s hope that the board learnt the mistake they made by missing out on Luis Diaz and are more prepared this time around.
