Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son hails ‘unreal’ Harry Kane after Leeds United win
Speaking after his side beat Leeds United 4-0 at Elland Road (h/t Evening Standard), Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son said that he was running out of words to describe Harry Kane as the duo ran riot against the Peacocks on Saturday.
Spurs were excellent against a poor Leeds side, as the north London club raced to a 3-0 lead by half-time after they went ahead in the opening ten minutes of the game. It was the best response to show after the team lost 1-0 to Burnley the previous week.
Son said that words are not enough to describe a player like Kane, who the South Korean said was ‘unreal’ and that he was happy to be playing alongside him every single day.
“So I think words are not enough. He’s just an unreal player. I’m really happy to work with him every day and playing together is a big honour.”
Son scored the team’s fourth goal of the afternoon, after being played through with an accurate long ball from Kane. It would be the former Bayer Leverkusen forward’s last involvement in the game as he was taken off for Dane Scarlett.
“He can do both”
With this latest goal, Kane and Son have now combined to score their 37th goal together – which is a new Premier League record as they beat out the 36-mark achieved by Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
The South Korea international said that his English partner was a player who could play as both striker and number 10, describing Kane to be a star who could do whatever the team needed from him.
“A striker is always scoring goals and a No10 is making assists, he can do both, whatever we need. And he wants to improve.”
The PL duo was at their brilliant best yet again the previous weekend, as Spurs shook off their poor league form to grab all three points at Elland Road. The result leaves them in seventh place, with quite a journey ahead of them if they are to claim a UCL spot by the end of the season.
Spurs fans will hope that the forward pair can continue to deliver the goods throughout the campaign, as they look to climb up the league table and get their hands on the FA Cup trophy. The latter is a very realistic option for Tottenham to win, and supporters will be eagerly waiting for Kane and Son to help the club lift the trophy by the summer.

After a poor start to the season, manager Antonio Conte’s arrival seems to have done the trick for the team as Son and Kane look to be back to their usual best. The England skipper seemed to be low on confidence a few weeks earlier, but he has recently reminded everyone just how good he is.
The pair are arguably Conte’s best players in the squad, as he looks to end Tottenham’s trophy drought and help them win some long-overdue silverware to add to their trophy cabinet. In all likelihood, this will be possible only if Son and Kane combine together yet again to deliver the goods.
